Every night before we got to bed, we go into each of the girls' rooms to check on them. A few nights ago, I went into check on Helena and found this:

She's been sleeping with her little bottom in the air almost every night, and I thought it was so cute I just had to take a picture.

The next night, when I went into Sophie's room, I couldn't find her. I looked around, thinking maybe she had moved to the floor, but she wasn't there. Then I went to her bathroom to see if she was in there, but still no luck. After a few minutes of searching for her, I realized she was on her bed. She had moved to the far corner and surrounded herself with every stuffed animal she could get her hands on, then curled herself into a little ball. I had to stand on her bed, right over her, just to be able to get her head in the picture:

Helena turned 6 months old this past Thursday, and we have had even more exciting new developments in the past month. In addition to sitting, she can now stand holding on to something, plus she got her second tooth! She's even sleeping 12 hours at night!  We've also recently started baby food and Helena has loved everything we've tried - she turns no food down. She gets VERY excited and jumps up and down when she sees her bowls because she knows it's time to EAT!

Yesterday we went to the doctor for her six-month checkup, so we have her latest stats to report: Weight - 14 lbs, 14 oz (25th percentile); Height - 27.5 inches (95th percentile!). I was very surprised that her weight wasn't higher, since she's such a good eater.

Helena at six months:

This morning, we took her to have her six-month photos and these were a few of our favorite shots:

Helena has been battling pneumonia for the past ten days or so, but she is finally on the mend and is back to her usual chipper self:

While we've been home with her, we've had lots of time to practice sitting and now she's doing it all on her own! We're so proud of her:

Sophie's very happy to finally be able to sit on the floor and play with her little sister:
