We recently had more pictures done to celebrate Sophie turning 5 and Helena turning 9 months.  Helena isn't very fond of strangers right now, so it was difficult to get a smile out of her, but we still managed to get a few good shots:

Yesterday, Helena (or Lanie, as we've taken to calling her) turned 9 months old.  It's been an exciting three months since her last checkup.  Since then, she's learned to pull herself up, cruise, say a few words, and even started standing for a few seconds on her own recently.  I took her to the doctor this morning for her well-baby exam, and we received an excellent report - she didn't even have to get any shots this time!  We are happy to report that our Gentle Giant is now 29 inches tall (95th percentile) and 17 1/2 pounds (25th percentile).  It's no surprise that people often tell us that she's (1) very long and (2) very smiley (see below):

So far, Helena has learned to sign "milk", "hungry", "mommy", and "daddy".  She's also been saying "mama" and "dada" a lot, but it's hard to tell whether or not she's saying it discriminately or indiscriminately.  This morning, however, she dropped a rice puff and when I said "Uh-oh!", she said it back to me very clearly!  She's spent the entire day repeating, "Uh-oh!"  Here's a picture of her saying her new favorite phrase:

Today marked Sophie's first day of soccer.  This is her first time playing a sport and she's been looking forward to this evening for weeks!  Sophie had a lot of fun learning the rules and playing her first real game of soccer.  She can't wait to go back next Friday.

We were all looking forward to celebrating Easter this year, especially since this was Helena's first.  We started off the weekend by dyeing our Easter eggs.  Sophie had been asking every day when she could decorate eggs and once she finally got to dye them, she was very pleased with how they turned out:

Sunday morning, the girls were excited to see that the Easter bunny had paid us a visit and they were very anxious to see what got in their baskets:

Later that day, we hid our Easter eggs and Sophie had a lot of fun hunting for them:
