It has been such an exciting weekend.  In addition to Sophie's birthday celebration yesterday, Helena has started crawling!  She started cruising a couple of weeks ago, but shortly before we left the house for Sophie's party yesterday, she crawled for the very first time.  She seems very pleased that she is finally able to get around on her own:

This afternoon, we celebrated Sophie's fifth birthday by having a party at our local indoor sports complex.  Sophie and her friends had a blast playing soccer and jumping and climbing on the inflatable obstacle courses.  Here are a few shots from her party:

Sophie was so bashful when it was time for everyone to sing Happy Birthday to her:

We all had a lot of fun at Sophie's party and we're so thankful to all of her friends who were able to be there to help us celebrate!
This evening, an NCAA basketball game was on TV.  Sophie asked me who we were rooting for.  I told her we were rooting for the guys in the orange (Tennessee) because I went to school there.

Sophie asked, "Did you play basketball in college?"

I asked Sophie, "Are you aware that Mommy is 5'2"?"
Yesterday, we celebrated Sophie's fifth birthday!  We can hardly believe that it's been five whole years since we became parents by welcoming our first little girl into the world.  This past year, she became a big sister, she learned to tie her own shoes, and her reading skills have gotten even better.  We couldn't be prouder of her.  Sophie has changed so much and is growing into such a wonderful young girl:

We enjoyed a small celebration at home yesterday.  Sophie was especially excited to have a birthday dinner at her favorite restaurant, Red Robin, and was thrilled to finally get a cash register of her very own.  Then, this afternoon, we visited the doctor for her annual physical.  Sophie got an excellent report and had three shots in preparation for kindergarten enrollment next month.  She didn't even cry!  Sophie weighed in at 36 pounds (25th percentile) and was 45 inches tall (90th percentile).  It was a great birthday and we can't wait for Sophie's party on Saturday!
This morning, as I was getting ready for work, Sophie asked me why Yoda has white hair.  I told Sophie, "He's very old.  I think he's about 300."  (I found out later that he's actually about 900, but I digress.)

Sophie responded, "Oh, like Great-Granny."

I said, "No, Great-Granny's not that old."

Sophie said, "Yeah, but she's REALLY old."
This weekend, the chilly weather finally started to move out and the warm weather started moving in.  Although spring doesn't officially arrive for two more weeks, we enjoyed our preview of the sunny days to come.  We decided to take advantage of the nice weather yesterday afternoon and take a walk around the neighborhood.  Helena loved her first ride in the wagon and Sophie was very excited to finally have someone to ride in it with her:
